Are coversongs alowed on Metalabel?
Dear Amiri and others, Is it allowed to put coversongs (originaly written by another artist, put played in a different way) on my profile? We as a band do have a contract with the Dutch association that represents the original artists (BuMa/Stemra): we pay an anual fee for playing coversongs that goes to the original (international) songwriters. In the contract it is stated that we can share our songs with others without limits as long as we share them for free. Many thanks in advance, Mech

It sounds like the legal stuff has been handled on your end. It seems safe to me. Considering that you cannot sell the songs, it seems even safer. Go ahead. |

You're welcome for this wonderful initiative! :) I am no musician--I played around a couple of times with some mixing software, and made a couple of hip-hop beats, took clarinet and piano a loooong time ago, but I'm really just a super fan!
