I remember sitting in my father's church crying because I was not able to play my instrument due to asthma, I can remember not being able to run and play with my friends, I remember desiring to run track and play football and couldn't, I remember as if it was yesterday sleeping out doors on my grandmother's front porch because I couldn't breath in the house. I felt as if I was going to take my last breath and my lungs were about to collapse. All of these events brought depression into play, but none of them kept me from trying to keep up with my friends and striving to be a great athlete and musician.
