In 2008, Omun release his first independent solo project-Son of Blue Collar Soul. The title speaks for itself. Omun like many, comes from a family of hardworking family and discovered the love for music at a very young age . For hours he would sit with father in the basement and listen to the soulful sounds of Stevie Wonder,The Jackson5,Eath,Wind,and Fire, Chaka Khan and Rufus, and many many other great pioneers of music. Omun Blends together classic hip hop with neo and classic soul. His musical influences range from Donny Hathaway,Krs One,Nas,Rakim,George Benson,Marvin Gaye,Elton John,Madonna,New Edition etc.
